With a brand new year on the horizon, it's the perfect time to start thinking about giving your home a refresh (or, perhaps more accurately, it's the perfect time to stop procrastinating about re-decoration and actually make some tangible plans). By now, you’re probably already well-versed in the interiors trends that have defined 2018 (the continuing popularity of rose gold, terrazzo tiling and an obsession with mid-century vintage furniture, to name just a handful), but what will be on the cards for next year? And will millennial pink be quite so ubiquitous this time in 2019? We’ve asked a handful of interiors experts to look into their metaphorical crystal balls and answer that very question, giving us a handful of re-decorating prompts in the process.
From the rise of the home bar (cheers to that) to the textures, colours and hero pieces that will be all over your Instagram feeds come 2019, these are the trends to invest in now (with some visual inspiration courtesy of Pinterest)...
Interiors trends 2019 - Grazia
1. Mixing metals
'Rose gold is out and in its place has come a passion for mixing metals, such as brass, gold and copper, giving a warm feel to metal in the home,' explains Cindy Fuller, founder of Designs Direct. 'It looks great with rough timber or brick.'

'These have seen a huge resurgence in the last couple of years, but will become ever more popular when friends and relatives visit,' says Cindy.

3. Jewel tones
'These colours are going to be big, if you are going to use these tones, own it. Go big or go home!' advises Cindy. 'They make a real statement in your home, you can also use neutral colours to soften them.'

4. Velvet
'I sometimes wonder if velvet was ever really out,' says Cindy. 'It's a luxe fabric for beds, sofas, chairs and cushions. The search term velvet has seen a 400% rise in the last six months alone... that should tell you how coveted it has become.'

5. Florals
'Use on walls, ceilings, fabrics and floors,' advises Cindy. 'Florals will prevail in 2019, and larger patterns will be huge. If you feel that an entire wall of florals is over the top, try large floral stickers to make a statement.'

6. Spa-inspired bathrooms
'The way we feel about bathrooms is changing: it can no longer be seen as a throw-away area or afterthought,' says interior designer Tara Bernerd. Instead it needs to be a space of indulgence; a chic haven that is practical yet alluring. For 2019, I feel we'll see even more texture in bathroom design, enhancing this sense of luxury. To achieve this look at home, finishing touches are key. For example, the petrol blue leather wall in this guest bathroom attract the senses, enlivening a smaller space. This can also be substituted with a moody paint colour. Additionally, art and a great mirror add that final layer and attitude.'
