First it was Crocs, then clogs, now everyone is obsessed with a new, old shoe: UGGs. But not just any UGGs. According to, well, the entire internet, the only way forward is the brand's mini boots, the kind that are sliced just above the ankle, and they've found a firm footing in the wardrobes of Gen Z.
Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls, Emily Ratajkowski, Irina Shayk, Kaia Gerber, all own a pair (or several) of the Classic Ultra Mini Boots, and tend to wear them with off-duty outfits like fleeces, leggings and tennis socks on the juice run every morning. But don't think for a second that this is a trend limited to teenagers and twenty-somethings.
Cher is an ambassador of Ugg (yes, really) - and what pair of boots is she wearing in the promotional material? The Classic Mini II Boots. That's right - if we could turn back time, we would have bought a much shorter pair instead of the almost knee-length styles that were popular in the early Noughties.
Although TikTok, naturally, has a solution. When @emkeen3 was gifted a longer pair of boots last Christmas, she decided to slice them off at the ankle to make an instant pair of minis (she rather cleverly unpicked the ribbon at the top and reattached it once she was done for a surprisingly neat finish).
If, however, DIY isn't your strong suit, why not treat yourself to a pair of UGGs? In these freezing temperatures, your feet will thank you.
