Kate Middleton Proves She’s Still The Master Of Zoom Dressing With A Collared Ghost Blouse

As we headed back into a second lockdown, our wardrobes knew the drill. Out with the snazzy shoes and swishy skirts, (back) in with the statement earrings and and head-turning hair accessories. Kate Middleton, certainly no slouch when it comes to Zoom, has wasted no time in demonstrating the perfect video call outfit for lockdown 2.0.

Yesterday - as she spoke to families who had lost loved ones in the British Armed Forces - Middleton chose a black and white blouse from Ghost. Its most noticeable feature was its collar - extravagantly-sized with just a hint of Victoriana - and, while the £79 style has since sold out, there’s plenty more where it came from on the brand’s website. There’s a white collared blouse that can be easily tucked underneath cashmere jumpers, or even a dungarees (very Chloe Sevigny), and several blossom-sprinkled mididresses that, again, can be worn alone or with a sweater slipped over the top.

A big collar is the perfect entry point back into waist-up dressing, and its fan club has grown considerably in 2020. As well as Middleton, Holly Willoughby, Emma Corrin and the influencer community at large (Tamu Mcherson, Nnenna Echem, Blanca Miro), have all invested in BCE. Middleton’s only addition was a poppy and her favourite gold hoop earrings with hanging pearls from Accessorize. Hers are sadly no longer available, but Mango’s faux-pearl pendants are just as head-turning.

While we hope these new restrictions don't last for much longer after 2 December, they do provide the perfect opportunity to up your collar game.
