To mark Windrush Day, Kate Middleton opted for one of her smartest looks to date, offering some much-needed inspiration when it comes to summer workwear. Arriving at today's unveiling of the National Windrush Monument, she chose a white trouser suit from Alexander McQueen, styling the two-piece with a pair of earrings that's still available to buy for £70.

The earrings in question are from Chalk, the design studio and brand founded by Malaika Carr, an architect and designer who hand-makes all her pieces and draws inspiration from unusual, geometric forms. The Duchess' choice was the Florence, a pair of earrings that is a wearable reimagining of the auditorium ceiling at the Royal Opera House, and would look just as head-turning with a summer dress as it does with suiting.

Although she has access to the Crown Jewels, Middleton's favourite pieces tend to be of the more affordable ilk, like her twisted hoops from ASOS, her pearl pendant necklace by Monica Vinader, and her crystal hoops from Missoma.
