Holly Willoughby Effect: Record Sales Force M&S To Restock Her Fashion Edit

Holly Willoughby's Marks & Spencer edit sells out in record time

On the first day of launch M&S sold one Holly Must-Have every two seconds!

Marks & Spencer today announced the launch of their collaboration with Holly Willoughby and pieces have sold out in record time.

Holly has joined Marks as a Brand Ambassador and kickstarted the campaign with a curation of her Must-Have pieces from their Autumn 2018 collection which launched on Thursday.

The full range is available to buy online and in selected stores - but the seasoned shoppers amongst you may want to shop fast as, unsurprisingly, it is SELLING. OUT. IN. RECORD. TIME.

(Apologies, we’re overcome with excitement / shopping-based sweats).

And the best sellers thus far? The leopard print dress and pink coat. But panic not, @marksandspencer’s Customer Service team (hello Chris) says the items are being restocked, stat. And by Monday in the majority of cases.

Product codes are: T42/9509 (dress) and T49/1675 (coat) - if that helps speed up your shop.

Holly’s 20-piece edit helps celebrate Marks & Spencers AW18 Must-Have campaign which aims to celebrate the style essentials every woman needs in her autumn wardrobe.

Jill McDonald at M&S says: ‘Holly’s approach to fashion really resonates with our customers and we look forward to sharing her Must-Have pieces for Autumn and the seasons ahead’.

But it’s that ol’ Willoughby magic that must have really excited M&S, as Holly has only further cemented her style influencer status over recent months – with her wardrobe choices resulting in significant sales spikes for fashion brands.

Holly Willoughby’s style appeal lead to her charting her daily outfits on her Instagram using the #hwstyle with legions of fans clambering to shop her style.

Her ability to drive purchase is what likely sparked the idea behind Holly’s highly anticipated lifestyle brand, Truly, that was due to launch this October. However, the star shocked fans when she took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce that she will no longer be involved due to work / family commitments.

Fast forward 24 hours and she’s setting the internet alight with the hugely successful M&S edit.

Holly has previously said of the collaboration: ‘I have grown up with and have always loved M&S, so when they asked me to be a Brand Ambassador, of course I said yes! I have really enjoyed picking my Must-Haves for Autumn, for me, confidence and great fit are key when it comes to style; I really hope I can inspire people to be brave and have a little bit more fun with their wardrobe’.

The Look? M&S calls it: 'Classic tailoring softening by a palette of pinks from soft blush to vibrant raspberry' Think plenty of separates that compliment one another - aka endless outfit choices.'

‘It is important to have key pieces in your wardrobe that you can build on too; so my Autumn Must-Haves also include a great cream blouse, a checked boyfriend blazer and ankle boots, they literally go with everything, and are a really chic way to soften a statement look’, says Holly.

And her top picks? ‘The city coat and the leopard print dress, which feel really fun and vibrant.’

Both of which just so happen to be the two items driving her fashion followers wild on social media.

All this mayhem comes at the start of a new season - a time when even the most sensible shopper can hardly resist the lure of a wardrobe update, or five.

Whichever way you look at it, Holly Willoughby’s new season edit was a HUGE success.

(And a genius move by M&S)
