Hailey Bieber has always excelled at statement coats and party dresses, but business casual, the rather nebulous dress code of most corporate offices? Not so much. Until we saw yesterday's outfit. Bieber stepped out wearing a slouchy grey suit paired with trainers. And suddenly - business casual doesn't seem quite so boring, does it?
The key to this look's success lies in the suit's slouchy nature. It wouldn't have quite the same nonchalance if the jacket and trousers were too tailored. Bieber's is by Han Kjøbenhavn, a menswear brand from Denmark, but all you need to do is look for a suit jacket that doesn't nip in at the waist and trousers have wide legs as opposed to slim. Going a size or two up will also help (you could always get the waist of the trousers taken in at your dry cleaners, FYI.)
When it comes to shoes, try trainers on the chunky side (Bieber's are Nike Air Force 1), for a combination that's smart but a lo-fi kind of smart. You could swap the long-sleeved tee for a crisp white shirt, but that also has to sit at the oversized end of the spectrum (and should definitely stay untucked). And hey presto – that's your autumn workwear wardrobesorted.
