If I were to ask you to name a runway show you're looking forward to at New York Fashion Week, you'd probably list off American icons such as Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch and Coach or perhaps younger brands like Collina Strada and Khaite. All brilliant highlights, let me assure you. One name you probably wouldn't think of, however, is high street brand COS. Although team Grazia is often waxing lyrical about how good the COS new-in section is and which colour of the viral cashmere jumper to invest in, it's fair to say the brand hasn't traditionally been associated with fashion week. However, yesterday COS staged its ready-to-wear show in Brooklyn, and everything from the polished collection on the runway to the front row boasting celebrities like Jodie Turner-Smith and Lauryn Hill cemented the fact that the brand has grown far beyond just a high street brand.
Staged in a former 1890s rope factory, the industrial setting provided the perfect backdrop for a collection that married the brand's minimal Swedish roots with a distinct New York edge. The collection (led by creative director Karin Gustafsson) features slouchy grey separates, tailored blazers, cashmere knits and (perhaps most importantly for this time of year), excellent outerwear, ranging from shearling to croc-embossed leather. Think of it as COS at its most luxurious – the brand still maintains its reputation for quality and accessibility, but proves it can deliver pieces that can hold their own alongside the high-end labels we know and love.
But, of course, even in a sea of oversized lapels and belted middles, there was one piece in particular that caught the eye of those in the know: the Croc-Embossed Leather Coat. The buttery-soft 100% leather jacket was spotted both on the runway and on multiple guests sitting front row. Its silhouette is simple enough with an angular collar, tonal topstitching and two front flap pockets perfect for injecting any outfit with a subtle dose of personality. The best part, however, is the fact that it's not just reserved for those sitting front row; the coat is available to buy right now, making it the rare NYFW piece that has immediately migrated from the runway to your own wardrobe.

COS's Croc-Embossed Leather Coat is one you can easily layer by throwing on a chunky roll neck underneath, and features a statement-making angular collar and tonal topstitching. Made from 100% leather and rendered in a deep brown tone, we're calling it the coat of autumn/winter 2025.
Aside from COS's outerwear selection, there was another enviable item on the runway (although I could've honestly added it all to my basket), in the form of its Draped Check Midi Skirt. Designed for a mid-calf length with an asymmetric wrap detail, the skirt was styled with a matching checked roll neck jumper and black leather ankle boots – the sort of look you could imagine wearing to both the office and evening dinner dates. And, it's a look that's seemingly already travelled further than the runway as I spotted it cropping up on my Instagram feed, too.

The Draped Checked Midi Skirt is the perfect wrap skirt for autumn/winter, not just for its burgundy check pattern, but because of its wrap silhouette that would look so chic styled with knee-high boots and a long wool coat.
COS's slot on the New York Fashion Week schedule ultimately hints at where the high street brand is headed. On the runway, we saw a showcase of clothes that we'd actually want to wear (and buy) in our everyday lives. Yes, fashion can be expressive, extravagant, and even a spectacle at times, but it can also be attainable and everyday, particularly where COS's showcase is involved. With a show like this, COS firmly staked its claim on the fashion week conversation – and judging by the reaction, it's a brand that won't be left off the list for much longer.

Perfect for (dare I say it) party season, this crinkled top is draped and rich in texture, with an effortless high neck collar, cap sleeves and straight hem. Style with the matching skirt and a pair of knee-high boots, or tuck into indigo denim.

The Crinkled-Satin Top by COS also has a matching skirt in a classic pencil shape. Made from the same feather-light crinkled satin and designed with a minimal and straight silhouette, the skirt can be paired with chunky biker boots or ballet flats.

Everyone needs a shearling jacket in their wardrobe, and this one is super cosy with its soft nappa underside and curly shearling fabric. Purposely designed with an oversized fit, the jacket also has three-quarter-length sleeves and an on-trend funnel-neck collar.

If you're looking for a wool coat this winter that isn't the same as all the others you see on the high street, COS is also the place to go for more unique designs. This one, for example, features an oversized V-neck collar and subtly defined waist.

Cashmere's calling this autumn/winter, and this shirt makes a change from the classic round neck jumpers and cardigans. With a pointed collar and button-down front, the shirt is made from premium GCS-certified yarn and is a gloriously autumnal dark brown shade.

If you're trying to work out how you can transition your ballet flat into a shoe that's more autumn/winter-ready, then your answer lies in a loafer. COS's runway style is particularly chic, with its almond-shaped toe and polished exterior.

Not wanting you to feel the chill this winter, COS has designed the perfect pair of wool-blend trousers that are sure to keep you warm. It has also nailed the fit, with a flattering wide-leg shape, elasticated waistband and fluid drape look.
