Bored of butter yellow? Already over tomato red? Then you're ready to park summer's It colours in favour of the fresh new hues about to enter the chat. And trust me, even as a die-hard hot weather fan, even I'm excited to wear these autumnshades. While monochromatic looks have dominated 2025 so far, when it comes to the new season, it's all about clever – and often, unexpected – pairings. Forget classic black with cream or brownwith beige, these are the fun and fresh colours, and they'll guide you when it comes to knowing what to actuallyshopfor autumn.

And as someone who's a bit of a foodie, I couldn't think of any way better to describe these new autumn/winter colour combinations than seeing which tasty treats they look like. Got a bit of a sweet tooth? You'll be interested in how to style chocolate or Palma Violet. More of a wellness girlie? Then kiwi, blueberry and softolivemay be more your thing. Ten colours, five ways to wear them – let me show you the duos that are about to take over.

Berry + Daffodil

Okay okay, we're kind of stepping into a buttery yellowzone for the first one, but I'm calling it daffodil. And when combined with rich berry (also search for oxblood or burgundy), then it gives it a complete image overhaul that feels so far removed from summer styling. A berry shade bomber will work across the season, and I've also found @itscarolinelin's exact Zara cami, so you can easily copy and paste this outfit into your own wardrobe.

Grey + Parma Violet

Whether it's a grey cardigan, or in this case, a jumper, there's no denying it's one of the most versatile items you can add to your cold-weather wardrobe. Swaddle up in an oversized style, and instead of adding the jeansyou wear on heavy rotation, get a pair of Palma Violet-inspired trousers. The soft shade is a cross between dusty pink and soft lavender, and although it would usually be a pastel shade spotted throughout summer, the grey brings it into autumn territory.

Kiwi + Chocolate

Two colours I would never have usually thought to put together – until now – is the brightest green with dark brown. Or as I like to call it, kiwi and chocolate. I love how @emilisindlevhas kept the base monochromatic in a rich brown ensemble, then added in the contrasting colour in the form of outerwear and accessories. A formula you can easily take through to autumn when it comes to any of these combinations.

Blueberry + Tan

I'm thinking blueberries when they're freshly washed and in the sunlight, not when they're dusty in the Sainsbury's aisle. Upgrade your shirting edit by swapping your usual white or striped classic for a bolder blue, button up, add a tie and throw on that all-important autumn layer in the form of an oversized tan blazer. I also appreciate how @linda.sza has shown how to add a third shade with chocolate boots – proof of how these colours will seamlessly work throughout the year even when mixed and matched.

Soft Olive + Black

More of a minimalist? Or prefer to steer away from a lot of colour? Fear not, as I also have a way to elevate your trusty LBD. Instead of reaching for your classic cream or camel trench, give the transitional coat style a refresh by opting for one in soft olive green. Not to be mistaken with khaki, this lighter shade is one that's also taking over when it comes to trousers, too. So basically any item you buy in this picky bits-approved shade will work.
