Why Statement Earrings Are The Perfect Way To Finish Off Any Outfit

Just ask Blake, Bella and Beyoncé.

A great pair of earrings can be the saving grace to pretty much any outfit in our humble opinion. Wedding outfit need a little bit of sprucing up? Your go-to white tee and jeans looking a little tired? Want to transform silky pyjamas into a party season ensemble? (You can see where we're going with this.) In a nutshell, statement earrings, or any earrings for that matter, really do add the perfect finishing touch.

For real earring inspiration, look to Swarovski, who has Bella Hadid fronting its campaign of statement jewels. With glistening crystal hoop earrings, jewelled chokers and an enviable array of colourful cocktail rings – they're bound to be the cherry on the cake of all your outfits.

And when it comes to jewellery fit for a princess, Kate Middleton is here to give a lesson. Matching her diamond drop earrings to her stunning tiara at Buckingham Palace, we fully stand by the fact diamonds are a girl's best friend. You can easily get the look with a rhinestone style – they're everywhere this season.

And when it comes to red carpet moments, how could we forget Beyoncé at the 2022 Oscars? Queen B walked the red carpet wearing a sunshine yellow gown from Valentino, accessorising with a pair of shoulder-skimming chandelier earrings (another Lorraine Schwartz moment). We wouldn't expect anything less.

Diamonds aside, it's not just jewels that make an earring great. We're big fans of something a little more understated. Gold hoop earrings, for example, make a chic statement worn day-to-day and they're guaranteed to go with literally any outfit.

A brand who executes the understated-yet-statement earrings to perfection is Completedworks, whose Scrunch earrings have become a cult classic worn by everyone from Daisy Edgar-Jones to Jodie Comer. Other favourites include their pearl-drop earrings and ear cuffs. Wear individually or stacked up with other hoops for some strong earring action.

Other than Completedworks, fashion editors flock to Simone Rocha, for her crystal flower earrings that drip towards the shoulder; Sezane, whose, bright, colourful earrings are loved by the Princess of Wales; and Missoma's Squiggle collection, which will liven up your lobes.
