When it comes to denim, we've quite literally seen it all. Be it slim or wide, barrel or straight leg, there's an endless variety of coveted silhouettes tailored to everyone, making jeans one, if not the most democratic items of clothing. While there is, indeed, plenty of choice when it comes to jeans, there's one type that has reigned supreme this season - the dark wash.
On the runway, we've seen endless iterations of dark wash jeans; Versace endorsed dark indigo straight leg jeans during its AW24 catwalk, and elsewhere, Carolina Herrera featured wide leg styles, paired with peplum hem corsets and pointed heels. But this wasn't exactly a runway debut for the dark wash jean; back in 2023, Miu Miu showed low rise dark wash jeans, styled with thick leather belts and burgundy pumps during its SS24 show.
Off the catwalk, A-Listers have also adopted the inky denim trend, with it-girl Kaia Gerber being spotted wearing Ètica's now sold out Roma Wide Leg jeans. Meanwhile, Bella Hadid has, too, jumped on the bandwagon, pairing her indigo denim flares with boho inspired corsets for a casual, model off duty look.
Naturally, the dark denim trend has trickled down onto the high street, and while the options are virtually limitless, there is one pair that stands out from the crowd, and that is the Mango Bet High-Rise Balloon Jeans, £35.99 - a brilliant affordable pair of jeans, available to buy in four different shades - denim grey, khaki, black and of course, dark wash blue.
