This High Street Party Dress Looks Just Like Adele’s Wedding Guest Outfit

Remember that time Adele went Instagram official) with her boyfriend, Rich Paul? It was a moment only slightly overshadowed by the fact that she was wearing one of the most incredible dresses (in my humble opinion) of the past God-knows-how-long, courtesy of Daniel Roseberry at Schiaparelli. A black column dress crafted from wool crepe, its 'sleeves' were actually a dramatic swoosh of white silk taffeta which formed two 'rosettes' on the front of the dress.

It was nothing short of a masterpiece, a true piece of haute couture fashion fantasy but one which Adele was definitely wearing – it wasn't wearing her. She took it to a friend's wedding, where videos emerged on social media of her barefoot, wine glass in hand on the dancefloor. This is not the stuffy, stiff haute couture of a bygone era. This is a dress designed to really be worn.

You can imagine my delight, therefore, when I stumbled upon this party piece from & Other Stories. Immediately, it brought to mind the deliciously dramatic silhouette of Adele's Schiaparelli dress, only the neckline here is made of ruffled white tulle.

Couture it is not but, considering it's a high street creation that costs £175, I'd say it's a pretty happy compromise. If Halloween was anything to go by, the festive season this year is set to be bigger than ever, which makes sense after the turmoil of last year.

And if anyone questions why you're barefoot on the dancefloor, dressed in your finest party frock, simply tell them you're channeling Adele.
