I have very mixed feelings about the (almost) return of coat season. On one hand, it covers the outfit I've spent hours picking, but on the other, a great coat is an outfit in itself, making it an easy fix for styling dilemmas. For me to get truly excited about a coat, it needs to elevate any look, but it shouldn't completely overpower my well-thought-out outfit either. So when I realised that the coat in question not only ticks all my boxes, but it's just been restocked for 2025, I knew it needed to wind up in my own wardrobe (and yours) pronto.

Aligne's cult coat can elevate an outfit without necessarily overwhelming it – and that, I can get on board with. Whatever you choose to wear underneath, tailoring, denim, knits, or satin, it all works, which probably explains why four of my friends already have it in their rotation. And, if we all show up in the same coat next time we see each other, well, that just says more about the coat than it does about us.
