Seven days into 2022, news dropped of a collaboration that is likely to be one of this year's biggest: Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga. That's right, Ye is collaborating with Demna (Gvasalia, creative director of Balenciaga) to create a collection for Gap, in a three-way partnership that is the first of its kind in the fashion landscape.
And as of today, fans can finally get their hands on the product as the latest collection - a regimentation of 'the modern wardrobe through their shared vision of utilitarian design' - is available for purchase. Most of the products can be bought now and will be shipped over the next few months, while some are still 'coming soon'. Expect the logo tees, the fleece jogging pants, the long-sleeved 'second skin' tops and the baseball caps to fly off the virtual shelves.

Gvasalia has form when it comes to this kind of thing. Last year saw the launch of 'The Hacker Project', a partnership (or what they called a 'mutual contamination') between two of luxury fashion's biggest brands: Gucci and Balenciaga.
Ye, meanwhile, is a bit of an expert in the collaborations department, working with Adidas - on a cult footwear line - and Yeezy Gap, which has so far included a sell-out puffer jacket and a hoodie.
To insiders, the news won't have come as much of a shock, of course. Both Ye, and his former wife Kim Kardashian, have a very close relationship with Gvasalia (Kim almost exclusively wears his designs for Balenciaga; Ye collaborated with the creative director on the second listening party forDonda).

How much does Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga cost?
The new pieces will be available for slightly elevated Gap prices rather than Balenciaga prices. The T-shirt is £140; the sateen anorak is £270; the pullover puffer is £360.
You'll have to be quick though – given that the first Yeezy Gap drop sold out within minutes and appeared on resale sites for up to four times the original price, you can bet that this Balenciaga collab will be just as – if not more – popular.
