In This Heat, I Can’t Stop Fantasising About The Row’s New Capsule Collection

It's quite literally the opposite of sweaty

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen managed an elusive career move that few pull of with the same level of success as they. They went from child stars (obviously responsible for some of TV's best work) to fashion designers with their own brand (well, two, to be exact). It's not just any old brand, either, but The Row, which stirs a level of excitement in fashion editors that is no mean feat. Now, The Row has teamed up with Net-a-Porter to deliver a capsule collection of summer workwear that is, quite frankly, all we should be wearing in these soaring temperatures.

There are six pieces, all in the most delicious cornflower blue, and including some of The Row's existing bestsellers -the silk Sante dress, for example. Elizabeth von der Goltz, Net-a-Porter's global buying director, told Vogue: ''We wanted to address the working woman’s needs during the summer season, when temperatures are high, but you still need to look pulled together for work. The Row rarely partners on exclusive capsules and collaborations, so it feels really special that we were able to create such a beautiful collection that’s solely available to our customers.'

And it's not just fashion editors who are clamouring to get their hands on The Row's own take on chic minimalism. Vogue reports that Net-a-Porter has increased its selection of The Row pieces by 40 per cent this year to keep up with customer demand. 'The customers predominantly love the design, from the minimal aesthetic to the clean-cut pieces and high-quality fabrics,' von der Goltz said. 'Not forgetting the beautifully skilled tailoring and craftsmanship behind each piece, which creates an incredible fit.'

Prices in the new collection range from £625 to £2,880, which seems to put my dreams of chic heatwave dressing slightly out of reach. Thankfully, there's a wealth of excellent, breezy pieces fit for even 38 degrees at a slightly more realistic price (particularly when you consider the fact that it will probably be raining tomorrow).
