Designers from Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and Burberry have all be competing in the Autumn/Winter 16 campaign trail. Whether enlisting the help of Kendall Jenner and co or getting Eddie Redmayne modelling the classic trench, again.
But Jimmy Choo has marked its 20th anniversary this year with a fall campaign that includes the most powerful women in the (model) biz...from the original 1990s ‘supers’ Amber Valletta and Milla Jovovich to the supermodels of the moment - Victoria Secret’s new recruits Taylor Hill, Jasmine Tookes and the new face of L’Oréal Paris - Xiao Wen Ju.
‘The fall 2016 campaign is a reflection of the characters who embody the Jimmy Choo brand values both during the past 20 years and into the future,’ says. Sandra Choi, the label’s creative director. ‘It’s a modern vision of our woman and it signals a bold new chapter.’ As well as showcasing the coolest footwear on our wishlist for autumn – velvet pumps and lace-up boots. Dreamy.
But more importantly, could this campaign signal the end of the supermodel war for good? The America’s Next Top Model host, Tyra Banks, spoke out last week that the ‘modeling world is now a democracy and we need to celebrate it, lean into it.’
This campaign should do just the trick.
Who knows, maybe a Kendall, Gigi, Stephanie Seymour photoshoot could be next? Watch this space…
