Another day in New York, and another Sienna Miller look to go gaga for. Out and about in Soho this week, she was spotted in a white vest top, Gucci trainers and with her trusty Proenza Schouler Hex bucket bag in tow (side note: Sienna’s scarf/face mask game is strong).
Also of note are her high-waisted, wide-legged beige trousers. The good news? They’re from Mango. The even better news? They’re in the sale and in stock – down from £59.99 to £19.99 – proof that there are still some excellent finds to be unearthed in the sales. Race you there.
It’s not the first time Sienna’s worn Mango; earlier this year she chose a faux shearling coat from the Spanish brand for an appearance at the Sundance Film Festival. Last summer she wore a pair of paper-bag trousers and a matching shirt, also both from Mango. Her penchant for the high street is just one of the reasons we’ve loved her style for nearly two decades now; she’s never been scared of mixing the high-street with the high-end, big names with emerging talents. Sienna is not one to be swayed by a label.
BUY: Sienna Miller's Mango Trousers
Cotton-Blend Trousers, £19.99
These Mango trousers – a sort of elevated chino – are a savvy summer style move. The fluid cut and lightweight cotton-blend fabric means they’re cool, literally. The belted waist is flattering. The neutral stone colour gives them wear-with-anything appeal. She’s kept her palette pared-back by wearing with white, but consider beige an excellent accompaniment to poppy brights as well (it’s less harsh than wearing them with black, for instance).
If you think summer’s not the time for trousers, then think again. For starters, not all of us even want to get our legs out, rendering short shorts and thigh-grazing skirts very much off limits. Furthermore, the volume of a maxi dress can be a nuisance, and jeans can feel to restrictive in the heat. This is where easy, breezy trousers come in; they’re cool, literally. Look for crisp, belted styles like these, and consider them an opportunity to hit refresh and press the back-to-business button after months in elasticated waists and stretchy fabrics.
Wear with a vest top like Sienna to channel a minimal ’90s mood (you need All Saints and Jennifer Aniston on your mood board). Not ready to ditch summer romance all together? Offset the tomboyish charms of the trousers by opting for one of the pretty blouses doing the rounds right now. Either way, for £19.99 you can’t go wrong.
