If you haven't already watched the first series of Sex Education on Netflix, you're in for a treat. You don't have long, though – the second series lands on 17 January. Whether or not you're well acquainted with the characters from the show, however, you can certainly still appreciate their brilliance on the red carpet at the premiere of the new series last night. From Gillian Anderson to Emma Mackey, there was a parade of excellent fashion and a brilliant choice of designers.
Anderson, for one, looked sensational in a gold puff-sleeve dress from The Vampire's Wife, the label that has amassed a fervent and loyal following in record timing thanks to its super-flattering, glamorous dresses. It has become a popular choice for the red carpet, with the likes of Sienna Miller and Jodie Comer to Florence Welch and Maggie Gyllenhaal. There were even a few The Vampire's Wife dresses spotted at the royal wedding of Harry and Meghan.
Emma Mackey, who plays the show's resident cool girl Maeve Wiley, chose a red Stella McCartney mini dress for the premiere teamed with chunky silver platforms. Her look had a distinctly 60s vibe about it, completed by silver drop earrings and effortless-looking hair.
There was also Tanya Reynolds, who plays Lily Iglehart, wearing a Simone Rocha dress with white, lace-up boots by London-based brand Miista.
Trish Allison, meanwhile, wore Dolce and Gabbana polka dots, shoes from the brand and a bag by Florian London.
Ncuti Gatwa plays the loveable and fabulous Eric Effiong, renowned for his flamboyant sense of style. In fact, his character's outfits have become influential in their own right, with Lyst reporting that he is the 8th most influential TV character, just behind Fleabag.
The online search platform also reports that searches for matching tracksuits increased by 22% based on Eric's own colourful two pieces in the show. For the premiere, he wore a blue suit by Ami Paris, paired with trainers.
Is this the most fashionable cast on Netflix? Maybe.
