Now the football's over, we've found a new sport to keep ourselves occupied. It's something we can do from the comfort of our sun loungers and doesn't involve cardiovascular so much as drinking Cosmopolitans. It is, of course, spotting and cataloguing all the outfits on the set ofAnd Just Like That, otherwise known as the reboot to end all reboots.
And what fun it's been so far. Carrie Bradshaw is back in her heels but - wait a minute! - are those platforms we see? As mega-fans will know, Carrie was always a stiletto pump kind of girl, always forgoing comfort for a boost in the height department. (Remember when she was forced to take off her shoes at a friend's baby's birthday party? That did not go down well.) But it looks like our heroine (some of the time at least) has finally embraced the block heel, even if it's attached to a towering platform from Saint Laurent.
We've also clocked - as, undoubtedly, all eagled-eyed fans have - that a few choice accessories from the original series and movie have made it into the reboot. Carrie's famous Fendi Baguette - the sequinned number that was stolen in season three - made the cut, as did the leather studded belt she wore in the first movie to go apartment-hunting with Mr Big. The show's costume designer, Molly Rogers, has also been weaving vintage treasures into the women's wardrobes (just like she and her predecessor, Patricia Field, used to do on the original series). Charlotte's Burberry leather charm is vintage; ditto the high-waisted and gingham-checked skirt worn in the promotional photo by Carrie, who was always a fan of wearing a $10 vintage dress with $400 Manolos, and loved consignment shopping when killing time during jury service.
There's obviously been quite a lot of speculation about whether or not Mr Big (real name, John James Preston) would be returning and, if he is, whether or not he would still be married to Carrie. After sifting through the on-set images, it looks like one photographer might have captured the answer. In one close-up, Carrie can be seen wearing a charm bracelet with the initials 'CBP', which must logically stand for Carrie Bradshaw Preston.
Another (open) secret is the fact that Natasha - Mr Big's second wife - has been spotted on set. God knows what the writers have in store, but her wardrobe definitely hints at the fact that she is still being set up as something of an antithesis to Carrie.
(Who could forget that toe-curling lunch between the two when Carrie, wearing a newspaper-print dress by Dior, tries to apologise to Natasha, wearing pearls and blush pink?) For her first appearance on set, Bridget Moynahan was dressed in characteristically pared-back ensemble - a silk blouse, taupe skirt and buckled tan sandals - which combined create quite the contrast with the hot pink shirt dress on Carrie.
Can they somehow be rivals once again? Only time will tell, but for now, at least we have the clothes.

sex and the city outfits
This floral and floaty off-the-shoulder Richard Tyler frock is what our heroine wore for her season three rendezvous with Mr Big. It stayed this pristine for approximately two seconds before she fell into a lake trying to avoid him planting a kiss on her cheek, but will always be remembered as the ultimate outfit in which to meet an ex.

This loud-and-proud combination is classic Samantha Jones. How can the show go on without her colour clashes and power earrings?!

Charlotte York, the show's resident Park Avenue Princess, rarely wore jeans, but naturally they looked next-level polished whenever she did.

Miranda's anti-bride outfit - a velvet coat in crimson - made her outdoor nuptials one of the best on-screen weddings of all time.
sex and the city outfits
This might not be one of the best outfits, but it's certainly one of the most memorable. Pretending to have a lesbian wedding with a pregnant Miranda, Carrie wore a polka dot belt around her naked waist and what looked like a tiara made of tree branches. If anyone can carry it off, it's her.

Carrie's idea of poetry = this perfect puff of a dress from Oscar de la Renta, a 'close friend' of Aleksandr Petrovsky's. A bit dressed up for McDonald's, sure, but utterly swoon-worthy.

Returning from an afternoon shop to sit on the sidewalk with Bill Kelley - the golden showers guy from season three - looking quintessentially 'Carrie' in snake-print boots and a cropped fur coat.

Carrie's Dior by John Galliano newspaper paper dress was so iconic (the fashion equivalent of front page news) that it earned itself a rewear in movie number two.

Styling out a gust of wind - and later in the episode, a very awkward encounter under an apartment building's awning - with easy-breezy stripes.

The best outfit list wouldn't be complete without one that is barely an outfit at all - the one and only naked dress.
sex and the city outfits
Sadly, Carrie never got to take this tulle Versace confection out of a spin in the city of lights, but we'll always have a soft spot for its 'mille-feuille'.
sex and the city outfits
Ah Carrie's corsage phase, one of our favourite phases, where she would pin oversized flowers on anything from tank tops to shirts dresses in the style of Halston.
sex and the city outfits
It's ironic that one of her best outfits would coincide with one of her worst days in Paris (stepping in dog poo, being filmed by a tourist on a riverboat, eating a baguette alone...).
sex and the city outfits
Carrie's last ever outfit in series six had all her hallmarks (the fur coat, the heels, the name necklace and, most importantly, the carrier bag from Manolo Blahnik).

Charlotte water-breaking moment coincided with particularly on-brand outfit: a pastel trench coat and polka dot dress.

Classic Samantha, power coat, big bag, bold earrings, flip phone and all.

For her big reunion with Mr Big, Carrie (although unsuspectedly, it has to be said) pulled out all the stops with a tuxedo jacket and dreamy tulle skirt.

Miranda's skinny jeans from No Excuses - the ones she last squeezed into after having mono as a student - were perfect for going to Bed.
