Puma Is Launching Speedcat Ballet Shoes, Which Will Be An Instant Sell-Out

Puma has blended two footwear icons into one, combining the sleek sporty energy of the Speedcat, its iconic sneaker, and the elegance of the ballerina flat. A masterclass in balance, the shoe made its debut at Copenhagen Fashion Week, a hotbed for bold new designs and the perfect stage for what's going to be called the Speedcat Ballet shoes.

Spotted at the OpéraSPORT show, this fresh take on the brand’s best-selling trainers swaps traditional laces for an elegant strap, marrying motorsport heritage with the ever-popular ballerina-core trend. The result? A silhouette that feels both nostalgic and modern. On Instagram, OpéraSPORT confirmed the new shoe, saying: 'THIS FW25 RUNWAY SHOW WAS SUPPORTED BY PUMA, AND DURING THE SHOW THE PUMA SPEEDCAT BALLET AND PUMA H-STREET WERE UNVEILED EXCLUSIVELY ON THE RUNWAY, SHOWCASING A FUSION OF INNOVATION AND ELEGANCE <3 <3 <3.'

The Speedcat has already cemented its place as a fashion favourite, ranking third on the Lyst Index’s 2024 hottest products for Q3 and earning the title of Puma’s most-sold sneaker ever. Celebrity approval has also only fuelled its rise - Dua Lipa recently starred in a major Puma campaign, while style icons like Jennifer Lawrence and Emily Ratajkowski have been spotted on the streets of NYC wearing the trainers.

Its latest iteration is poised for just as much success. We caught a glimpse of the Speedcat Mary Janes in a sleek black-and-white pairing, alongside a silver-and-white version that’s destined to sell out. These are the kind of shoes that slot seamlessly into any wardrobe - just as perfect with slouchy denim as they are with a tailored suit or a flirty mini dress.
