It's official - New York Fashion Week has commenced, kicking off fashion month for SS18 with shows from some of the biggest names in style, from Marc Jacobs and Victoria Beckham to Alexander Wang and Jason Wu.
Cue the stylishly nonchalant street style snaps, celebrity-sandwiched front rows and of course, the champagne-laden after-parties. And let's get real: it's not merely the catwalk shows we have our eyes fixated upon. Come NYFW, you'll find us daydreaming over who'll be sitting pretty on the front row (and we're just as interested in who'll be wearing what to the merry-go-round of post-show parties...)
As the first leg of the fashion month starts in earnest, you'll find us rounding up the biggest talking points from the front row below...

David and Brooklyn showed their support for Victoria Beckham
Brand Beckham was out in force for Victoria Beckham's SS18 show, with David and recent New York convert Brooklyn (who's recently moved Stateside to study photography at Parsons School of Design) sitting front row along with the new editor of British Vogue, Edward Enninful. While daughter Harper didn't attend, she did inspire the 'Harper' slipper in various glittering shades.
Prabal Gurung made a statement with his front row choices
Last season at Prabal Gurung saw models walk the runway in tees bearing slogans like 'The Future is Female,' 'Voices for Choices,' 'I'm a Michelle' (as in Obama) and 'I'm a Gloria (as in Steinhem). The latter feminist icon returned the favour for SS18, sitting front row at Gurung's show in her first NYFW appearance. Steinhem was joined by Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin and social media artist and activist Cleo Wade.
We want to live in a Jason Wu garden
Just as dreamy as the designs on show at Jason Wu were the floral displays that decked out his Brooklyn show venue. The designer attracted a cool girl crowd featuring the likes of Kate Bosworth, Caroline de Maigret, Instagram's Eva Chen, Man Repeller's Leandra Medine and Rouje designer Jeanne Dumas.
Jeremy Scott celebrated 20 years of larger-than-life fashion
He's well known for his endless squad of celebrity pals, so it wasn't surprising to see some of them turn out for the 20th anniversary show of Jeremy Scott's eponymous brand. Top marks for a gloriously OTT guest list which included Paris and Nicky Hilton and actual Lionel Ritchie (who turned out to watch daughter Sofia take to the runway)
Minnie Mouse wore custom Monse
There are guest list coups, and then there's getting a Disney character to rock up to your catwalk show. For Monse, the fashion insider-favoured label from Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia (who are also currently in the design top spot at Valentino) it was a case of the latter: the mouse posed up a storm in a custom Monse look with fellow guests like Nicki Minaj, Jaime King, Harley Viera Newton, Sofia Ritchie and the Hilton sisters (again).
Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty in style
Does anyone wear bold yellow better than Rihanna? We think not. At the New York launch of her much-anticipated Fenty Beauty line, the singer's striking jersey top and maxi skirt combo (complete with earrings and eye make-up in a similar sunshine hue) couldn't help but recall her dramatic Guo Pei Met Gala gown...
Lupita Nyong'o gave a masterclass in off-duty dressing
Lupita Nyong'o lit up the front row at Calvin Klein in a strikingly simple ensemble, pairing a white halter top with classic jeans and statement accessories. The actress was snapped chatting with Jake Gyllenhaal and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
The stars came out for Tom Ford
Nobody does a front row line-up like Tom Ford. The designer slash director slash all-round Renaissance man had Cindy Crawford, Julianne Moore and Kim Kardashian West in his best seats on Wednesday night, joined by the likes of Karlie Kloss, Helena Christensen and Chaka Khan. Speaking of Kim...
Kim Kardashian unveiled a new silver-blonde hairdo
We've come to expect a dramatic hair transformation from KKW come fashion week: remember the much-memed platinum shade she adopted a few years back? This time around, the social media megastar turned beauty empresario dyed her hair an Instagram-friendly silver-blonde: very Daenerys Targaryen.
