If you've lost the last few days and nights to Squid Game - Netflix's twisty-turny (and very gory) thriller about a children's game gone awry - you'll no doubt be familiar with HoYeon Jung, the 27 year-old actor who, according to The Guardian, is a 'series highlight' as the defector from North Korea. If you haven't watched it, you might still recognise her, not from the small screen (Squid Game is her debut show) but from the catwalks.
Before she turned to acting, Jung, who is from South Korea, modelled for the likes of Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch, Acne Studios, Prabal Gurung, Chanel, Miu Miu, Bottega Veneta and (deep breath) Fendi.
So it won't come as a surprise that Louis Vuitton, a label she's walked for since 2017, has snapped her up as a global ambassador, joining the likes of Naomi Osaka, Alicia Vikander, Laura Harrier and K-pop superstars BTS. Marking today's announcement, Jung said: 'It is an honour to start my acting career with Louis Vuitton, the brand I have modelled for. I look forward to all the moments with Louis Vuitton as a global ambassador.'
Although we're yet to see any examples of her red carpet style - though, no doubt, she's about to get an eveningwear wardrobe flush with LV - Jung is quite the street style star. Her off-duty look is a little more elevated than the omnipresent tracksuit in Squid Game, but she is, it has to be said, partial to streetwear staples such as pumped-up sneakers (hers are LV's Archlight, naturally) and puffer jackets.
Like Emma Raducanu, who has just been announced as a house ambassador for Tiffany & Co, her star is definitely on the rise. Keep scrolling for her best street style and catwalk moments to date.
