It's the latest case of déjà vu.

Sarah Jessica Parker has taken us on a trip down memory lane while filming And Just Like That, once again rewearing a piece of fashion history from the archive with her on-set wardrobe. Spotted yesterday on the streets of New York City, SJP appeared in a boat-necked pastel blouse that fans of the original series will immediately have recognised from season 3, episode 15 of Sex and the City: Hot Child in the City.

SJP famously got to keep her character's entire wardrobe from SATC (!), which is why the actor is often seen rewearing pieces in AJLT. I'm thinking of the stacked platform sandals by Dior; the white ankle booties from Chanel; the purple-sequinned Fendi Baguette, I could go on. This time, however, she pulled out a piece that hasn't been seen since the year Y2K, the pastel blouse by Chanel, a cornucopia of pink, peach and pistachio, that she paired with tie-dyed pedal pushers and a turquoise bandana tied around her head. Needless to say, it was a look.

In 2024, the vibe has changed somewhat. Instead of the capri pants, the blouse has been styled with a waterfall-hemmed skirt in violet and crystallised sandals in yellow, pink and blue (some things never change). In actual fact, the top is ever-so-slightly different than the original, with a lilac background instead of light pink. They might have sourced a similar top for AJLT (a nod that would still tickle die-hard fans). Or perhaps they bought multiple blouses the first time round and the lilac version never made it to set. Either way, it's a thrill to see that her style hasn't so much changed as evolved since the days of having a fried-chicken fight with a man who still lives with his mom (IYKYK).
