Hilary Duff has been out promoting the second season of How I Met Your Father - and there's something that needs to be said: Lizzie McGuire would be proud!
As well as ticking off all the trends in a way that feels grown-up (corsages, tailoring, animal print, you name it), she's been wearing some seriously directional designers that would have made her most famous onscreen alter-ego do a double take. First up, a white button-down worn with a flower at the collar. A hat tip to another small screen icon Carrie Bradshaw? Perhaps, but the corsage has officially got the green light from J.Lo, Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber and a whole load of celebrities at this year's Golden Globes. It's only a matter of time before me and you are wearing one. Seriously. Because it's been hovering around freezing in New York, she paired the look with a sensibly large grey overcoat and (because she wore the sensible coat) open-toe sandals.
For her second look of the day, for an appearance on Good Morning America, she threw a luxe leopard-print coat (very AJLT's Seema Patel) over flame red separates from AWAKE Mode. I told you, directional!
Although Lizzie's fashion choices were sometimes questionable with the benefit of hindsight, remember the theme song: 'We get one step closer each and every day, we'll figure it out on the way.' Well folks, she's figured it out.
