Daisy Jones and the Six

From the clothes we wear to the music we listen to, Daisy Jones & the Six is everywhere at the moment. And now, the rumour mill is saying that the faux-70’s rock band might be jumping into reality and going on tour sometime soon…

The cast and crew of the show (including Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Sebastian Chacon, Will Harrison, Josh Whitehouse, and Suki Waterhouse) have used the recent press tour for the hit TV series to tease fans with the possibility of a concert coming near you.

And as the dust finally settles after the finale of Daisy Jones & the Six, Josh (who plays bassist Eddie Roundtree) posted a sneaky TikTok on March 30th teasing that the group were back having band practice with Daisy Jones & the Six.

Some fans are convinced that they might even be appearing at music festival Coachella, with celeb gossip blog Deux Moi alleging that a tour could be coming soon. Sharing the anonymous DMs on their Instagram page, the message read ‘Those rumours swirling about Daisy Jones & the Six playing live shows are not wrong. Have it on very good authority that an announcement is coming soon.’ Meanwhile, this weekend, Sam Claflin shared a video of himself and Riley in what looked like a rehearsal studio with the caption 'Cooking'...

Sebastian Chacon – who plays the band’s drummer, Warren – shared earlier this month that he thinks the band ‘could never tour,’ but that they’d ‘love to do a one-off gig.’

Is buying tickets for a Daisy Jones concert only in our dreams? Time will tell. But touring isn’t the only question on our minds…

Is Daisy Jones & the Six a real band?

Whilst the band is made up of actors playing fictional characters, the cast is very much a real band now – with a record label and their album 'Aurora' rocketing up the charts.

Last November, Suki told Insider that the goal was ‘to be like, we could go on tour.’

So whilst the characters in the story, as well as those that orbit around them, are all entirely fictional, the cast do actually perform all of the music – and are based on some pretty famous names too.

Who is Daisy Jones & the Six based on?

The series is based on the book of the same name, but Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel is inspired by the real-life stories of one of history’s most iconic bands, Fleetwood Mac.

Adapted by Prime Video, the story follows the structure of a music documentary – with lead singer-songwriters Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne, the other band members, music historians, and music producers being interviewed decades after the band’s explosive breakup.

In the book, Daisy and Billy are clearly our stand-ins for Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham (who also had a highly-publicised breakup.)

Do the band actually sing in Daisy Jones & the Six?

It turns out, yes.

Whilst you might be used to some dodgy dubbed vocals when it comes to stars singing on screen, Daisy Jones & the Six actually does include music created by the cast.

Bringing the music of the 70s alive, Riley Keough’s Daisy and Sam Claflin’s Billy serve as the frontman of the band.

After intensive voice lessons, the pair were able to sing the songs on the debut album 'Aurora', with Sam also taking up guitar lessons over Zoom during the lockdown.

And not only does the band sing, but they also play their own intruments.

The band were sent to LA to rehearse together, learning the songs not for note, before performing them during filming – as seen in a TikTok video posted by Sam.

Alongside Sam and Riley, Suki Waterhouse learnt keyboard to be able to tackle the role of Karen Sirko.

Whilst Will Harrison – who plays guitarist Graham Dunne – had played guitar since he was 10 years old, it wasn’t until being cast on the show that he underwent proper training.

And Josh Whitehouse – who appears as bassist Eddie Roundtree – did come to the project from a musical background. Alongside acting, he fronts his own band, More Like Trees, although the role of Eddie required him to learn the bass.

But when it came to Sebastian Chacon’s portrayal of drummer Warren Rojas, his experience of the instrument was a little bit more fully fledged than his fellow bandmates. Opening up in an interview, he shared ‘I was immersed in music by my parents from a very young age. I’ve played piano for as long as I can remember and played the drums since I was in middle school.’
