Donald Trump lambasted Chrissy Teigen and John Legend on Twitter on Sunday - and even though the A list pair responded in the best way possible, Chrissy told Ellen today that her heart stopped when she originally read the tweets.

'My heart stopped because, at that moment, you know that you’re about to get just the wildest group of people ever…' the Twitter queen told Ellen DeGeneres during Wednesday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show. 'I was really angry,' she added. 'I think my eyes filled up with water just at the shock of it, that I can’t believe this really happened right now. He just goes on these rants, usually very late at night for him you just wait for him to say something — but you don’t think it’s gonna be you!'

In a series of tweets, the president called the singer ‘boring’, also calling Chrissy his filthy mouthed wife', claiming the couple had taken his credit for new criminal-justice reforms during a segment on Lester Holt's NBC Nightly News.

But, along with her husband, Chrissy was quick to respond - labelling Trump a ‘pussy ass bitch.’

‘When all of the people pushing so hard for Criminal Justice Reform were unable to come even close to getting it done, they came to me as a group and asked for my help. I got it done with a group of Senators & others who would never have gone for it. Obama couldn’t come close,’ Trump tweeted, in reference to the First Step Act, a 2018 law that reduces mandatory minimum sentences for some offenders.

‘A man named @VanJones68, and many others, were profusely grateful (at that time!),’ Trump continued, attacking the CNN host. ‘I SIGNED IT INTO LAW, no one else did, & Republicans deserve much credit. But now that it is passed, people that had virtually nothing to do with it are taking the praise.’

He added, ‘Guys like boring musician @johnlegend, and his filthy mouthed wife, are talking now about how great it is - but I didn’t see them around when we needed help getting it passed.’

Responding on Twitter, Teigen - who has been blocked by Trump since 2017 - fired back, ‘Lol what a pussy ass bitch. tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president.’

‘The absolute best part of his tweet is I literally didn't speak in the special,’ she added. ‘Nor was I mentioned. I'm cackling at the pointless addition of me because he cannot not be a bitch.’

Afterwards, the couple tweeted the hashtag ‘#PresidentPussyAssBitch’ - and though thousands followed suit, the hashtag was too explicit to feature on Twitter’s trending list.
