Mere weeks after theexplosive second instalment of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix documentary hype is already building for his upcoming interview with royal correspondent Tom Bradby, which will air in tandem with a separate interview in America ahead of the launch of his first autobiography, Spare, on January the 10th.

The ITV news anchor was the first to interview Harry’s brother William and his then-fiancée Kate Middleton after announcing their engagement in 2010 and worked with Harry and Meghan on their first major interview in 2019 while on their ten-day-tour of South Africa, where Meghan famously first admitted she ‘was not OK’.

Here's everything we know so far about the interview and interviewer.

Harry: The Interview - what is it?

Harry: The Interview will see Prince Harry sit down with friend and former colleague Tom Bradby to discuss more about the alleged subjection he and his wife Meghan Markle faced after she joined the Firm in 2018. While we'll have to wait for the episode to land to see the full scale of what Harry's about to reveal, it seems it could be focusing on the intimate relationships he has with his family, with a clip from the interview showing the Prince saying, 'The leaking and the planting… I want a family, not an institution. They feel that it's somehow better to keep us as the villains. They've shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile. I would like to get my father back. I would like to have my brother back.'

It will deviate from what Harry and Meghan already spoke about in their joint Netflix documentary in that it will focus on the Prince's own experience in the Firm, and touch on what he's covering in his lengthy no-holes barred autobiography.

When will Harry: The Interview air?

The traditional sit down interview - much like we've seen from previous royal tête-à-tête's with press - will air on ITV at 9pm, Sunday 8th of January 2023, and will then be available to catch up on on the Hub.

This clip from ITV News shows what we can expect from the upcoming interview, and just a few seconds gives plenty away.

Are there two Harry interviews coming out?

Technically, yes. Harry has filmed two interviews to support the release of his memoirs, one with Bradby to be shown to UK audiences, and one with American broadcast journalist Anderson Cooper which will be available for US audiences to watch.

The trailer for the latter is typically American, with an ominous voiceover and dramatic graphics backdropping his conversation with Cooper.

Who is Tom Bradby, the man interviewing Prince Harry?

Tom Bradby is a broadcast journalist who’s been working for ITV News since the early 90s after joining as an editorial trainee. Before briefly working as a Royal Correspondent for the channel (more on that in a minute), Bradby covered the Northern Irish Peace Process and President Clinton’s visit to NI in 1995, as well as becoming ITV Asia correspondent.

He’s also a successful novelist, with nine fiction books to his name.

Like his royal pals, Bradby was privately educated at UK boarding schools. He’s been married to the same woman since 1994 and has three children.

How does Tom Bradby know Harry and Meghan?

During the 90s and early noughties, Bradby worked for a stint as royal correspondent, covering major royal stories like Queen Elizabeth’s Golden Jubilee and the deaths of Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother and Princess Margaret. It was during this time that he first got to know the young princes, and has remained a trusted friend and colleague ever since, travelling with Harry and Meghan to Africa in 2019 and working with them on their first major interview, Harry and Meghan: An African Journey.

Tom Bradby and Meghan Markle interview

Bradby’s 2019 interview with Meghan, as part of the couples An African Journey TV special, was the first time she spoke out about her mental health strugglessince joining the royal family.

‘All my British friends said, “I’m sure he’s great, but don’t do it [marry Harry]”,’ she explained. ‘”The British tabloids will destroy your life”.’

Speaking in episode four of the Netflix documentary, she elaborated, 'We got in the car, got on the flight with everybody and then, I had no idea that that was going to be the thing that was going to travel around the world.

'That's what spawned the #WeLoveYouMeghan. It hit a chord for everyone for something specific to them.’

Prince Harry autobiography

Prince Harry’s autobiography Spare, thought to be named after the adage ‘heir and a spare’ (relating to the reigning monarch producing at least two children to ensure an unbroken line of succession), is set for release on January 10th, 2023. According to reports, his interview with Bradby will be one of two major interviews set up to promote the book prior to its release, the other rumoured to be with CNN reporter Anderson Cooper.
