What Was Timothée Chalamet Reading At The SAGS? An Investigation…

Twitter has theories

Timothée Chalamet

You’re at the SAGS. It’s halfway through awards season. The glitz and excitement of the Globes and the Academy awards has begun to fade and if you're an actor by now you probably want to stuff all your sequinned dresses in a nutri-bullet and stay at home watching Gilmore Girls (think about how you feel halfway through Christmas party season). But even so, if we found ourselves sat at a table with John Kransinki and Emily Blunt and Meghan Mullally was giving speech, chances are we'd probably be paying attention.

Clearly however this was all NBD for Timothée Chalamet who was busy making his way through War and Peace during the actors awards ceremony.

Ok, so we don’t actually know Timothee was reading. To be honest there’s good reason to believe that he was doing nothing more scandalous than perusing the SAGS programme when he was caught on camera at the ceremony with his nose firmly buried in an A4 size vaguely literary-looking tome. But this theory is no fun. Because we have nothing else to amuse ourselves during the arid social climes of January we really, really want to believe that he just got bored during the speeches and was like “well, this is going to be going on for a while so I might as well finish A Song of Fire and Ice while I'm at it"

Is it a novel? A script? The detailed blueprints of a bank? We don't know, but we relate on many levels and if the reactions of the internet is anything to go by so can everybody else.

On behalf of everyone everywhere Timothée, we get it. We applaud it. Let 2019 be the year of doing a Timothée Chalamet when you have to get dressed and be somewhere when you feel like staying at home and finishing off your tube reading. If Timothée Chalamet can do it at a celebrity awards ceremony, then so can you.
