Despite previous reports that she had passed away, Tanya Roberts is not dead. It was mistakenly announced that the actress and former Bond girl, 65, had died on Sunday, after she was admitted to hospital last month.
Tanya collapsed while walking her dogs on 24 December and was admitted to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre. Her agent Mike Pingel had told media that she had passed away this weekend, but on Monday, a call from the hospital confirmed that she was still alive.
Why did the mix up happen? Pingel says her partner of 18-years Lance O'Brien believed she had died - hence leading to the statement which announced the news. O'Brien found out she was alive during a TV interview, where he was talking about her death. 'The hospital is telling me she is alive. They are calling me from the ICU team,' O’Brien said to the interviewer in the studio from Inside Edition, as he broke down in tears
Speaking to The Sun about the ordeal, O'Brien said: 'She’s still with us, but not for long.' He further explained how the mistake happened. 'I turn around and she’s completely passed out cold. I thought that was that, she wasn’t going to recover,' he said. He added that he then called Pingel, saying: 'I said I just said goodbye to Tanya.' O'Brien also told the paper that he cannot return to the hospital to say another goodbye as he does not want to keep Tanya on life support just so he can see her.
Tanya was one of the iconic Charlie's Angels in the beloved detective drama, and found fame with a younger generation through her work on That '70s Show.
