Following Sunday’s Grammys there was only one topic on everyone's lips: Beyoncé. The Internet went into melt down over her first appearance since announcing her pregnancy, and her seriously epic performance.

However the reactions were not all positive, and some social media reactions suggested that Beyoncé should have taken home more awards for her album Lemonade. Beyoncé did nab the Best Music Video and Best Urban Contemporary album, but she lost out to Adele when it came to Best Song, Best Record and arguably the most prestigous award, Album of the Year.

Talk naturally centred on the lack of diversity amongst Grammy award winners, and while Beyoncé’s acceptance speech hinted at the issue, Solange took to Twitter to make her feelings on the subject very clear.

On Sunday, she tweeted Frank Ocean’s damning critique of cultural bias at the Grammys which slammed Taylor Swift best album victory last year as "faulty." And on Monday, she followed up with two more tweets.

“Create your own committees, build your own institutions. Give your friends awards, award yourself, and be the gold you wanna gold my g’s."

“There have only been two black winners in the last 20 years for album of the year there have been over 200 black artist who have performed.”

For an unknown reason, by the end of Monday the tweets had been deleted.

Adele, who took home five awards on the night, made similar remarks in her acceptance speech as she broke her statue in half to give to Beyoncé.

"I can’t possibly accept this award. I’m very humbled and I’m very grateful and gracious, but my artist of my life is Beyoncé and this album to me, the Lemonade album, was just so monumental," a tearful Adele told the crowd.
