Kourtney Kardashian has clapped back at trolls with too much to say about her son, Reign Disick’s, appearance. The reality star replied to comments about her sons hair on Instagram yesterday, telling people to essentially mind their own business.
Posting an adorable series of images of her weekend away with the kids on Instagram, Disick can be seen playing with horses and plating trees in the mud. The second picture in the eight-page gallery appears to show the full length of Disick’s hair, which finishes almost at his hips.
‘She really need to cut his hair,’ one Instagram user commented, with near 500 people apparently in agreement given that they liked the comment. Naturally, Kardashian wasn’t having any of it.
‘She really need to not worry about kids that aren’t her own,’ she replied, also taking a stab at the grammatical error in the comment. ‘He is a happy boy.’
With near 4,000 likes on the comment, it’s clear there is more love than hate for Disick’s long locks, and why the hell not? Gone are the days kids were forced to cut their hair according to ridiculous gender stereotypes.
Celebrity kids – and little boys in general - having long hair is not a new phenomenon. Gwen Stefani and Kate Hudson both made waves years ago when their sons rocked long hair. And yet, people still feel the need to comment.
Last year, Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry was trolled because her son Lux had long hair, with Twitter users saying he ‘looks like a girl’. Plus, it’s something Megan Fox has dealt with her entire parenthood, with some calling her an ‘awful mother’ for ‘forcing her sons to look and behave like girls’.
We would ask anyone with this opinion to question, what’s wrong with looking and behaving like girls? But more than that, how is it anyone else’s business how a child chooses to wear their hair?
It’s about time people stopped forcing boring gender norms on kids, and this debate was finally put to rest.
