When Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas announced their engagement in August, it all seemed very quick. In fact, we only did a deep-dive to find out if they were even dating in May. As they currently wed in Mumbai, people still have questions about their once very private relationship. When did Priyanka and Nick even meet? How did Nick propose? Did Ralph Lauren really bring them together? Well, thanks to a very in-depth Vogue interview, we've found out it all and we're here to relay all of the wildest revelations. Their whirlwind romance wasn't actually a whirlwind at all

Despite rumours that they met at the 2017 Met Gala when they were both dressed by Ralph Lauren, the pair actually began talking almost two years ago. Nick had seen Priyanka in Quantico and messaged her co-star Graham Rogers, saying 'Priyanka. Is. Wow.'

Nick slid into Priyanka's DMs

He then slid into her DM's on Twitter and asked to take her on a date on September 8th 2016, Priyanka gave him her number instantly. They didn't actually meet until a few months later at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, where Nick got down on one knee exclaiming 'You’re real. Where have you been all my life?'

They had gone on a date before the Met Gala

After the infamous knee bending came their first date, the week before the Met Gala. Attending after parties together, they ended up in Priyanka's apartment, where her mum was staying at the time, and so Nick was introduced to her while she was in her nightgown.

Nick patted Priyanka on the back after their first date

With Priyanka's mum very much cramping their style, you can imagine how awkward the end of date moment was. Nick truly took that to new heights, patting Priyanka on the back as they said goodbye.

'There was no kiss. There was nothing,' Jonas said. 'There was a back pat,' Chopra continued, with Jonas adding 'She’s still upset about that.'

'Your mom was in the house!' Jonas said, 'I thought it was a respectful first night.'

'It was too respectful if you ask me,' said Priyanka.

They didn't see each other for a year between their first and second date

And they didn't even plan it. They ran into each other at the next Met Gala, in may this year and with time finally working in their favour, Nick invited Priyanka to see Beauty and the Beast in LA later that month. Meeting at the Chateau Marmont, Nick said, 'She walks into the Chateau, and I feel an overwhelming sense of peace and understanding about this next chapter of my life.' Then they went to a Dodgers game the next night, their third official date, after which Nick rang him mum and told her he was going to marry her.

Nick proposed after midnight on her birthday, so their anniversary wouldn't clash with her own day

This was while they were on holiday in Crete celebrating her birthday. He had shut down Tiffany & Co in London to find the perfect ring with his brothers. Honestly, a man who actually understands it's not okay to propose on Chirstmas/New Year/your birthday? The dream.

Priyanka hasn't actually said yes to Nick's proposal

'I got down on one knee, again, and I said: Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?' Nick said. 'No joke—she took about 45 seconds. Forty-five seconds of silence.'

Priyanka says she was speechless, and so Nick said, 'I’m going to put this ring on your finger now unless you have any objections.'

So, you realise she hasn't actually verbally agreed to marry you, Nick?

Nick is the first boyfriend Priyanka has gone public with

'I’ve had that rule my whole life,' she said. 'Never publicly acknowledge a relationship. Ever.' But with Nick, it all changed. According to write Abby Aguirre, she visibly melts at the mention of him 'What is happening? I’ve not known myself like this,' she said. 'This guy turned me into such a girl! If I could blush, I’d be tomato red right now.'

Nick will ride into their wedding ceremony on a horse

He'll also be dressed like royalty in a turban, holding a sword, as is customary. In fact, Priyanka hadn't even asked if he was comfortable riding a horse until that very interview, he said he is though, so it's all good.

Priyanka's happy place is drinking Belinis in a bikini

Which is exactly what she did the day Quantico was set to air, to de-stress before her first big US break. 'Bikini Bellinis make me calm,' she said, 'It’s my happy place.' And clearly lucky charm, as Quantico's success led to it being broadcast in 64 countries in the first season.

She also had a music career

Before breaking into Hollywood as a movie star, she released music with will.i.am. Her first single, 'In my City' was the NFL's 2013 theme song for the Thursday Night Football season. However, the reaction was violently racist, with comments on social media like 'Who is this Arab terrorist?' and 'She’s not American. This is an American sport.'

The experience made her hesitant to do Quantico when the opportunity came around, so she demanded her ethnicity not to lead the part she plays in any way. 'The only thing I told her was: I don’t want my ethnicity to lead the part that I play,' she said, 'I want to have a job. I want to have a plot. I want to have a story.'

She moved states four times while in school

She moved to Iowa after visiting relatives there, and asking her mum to finish school in America. After spending part of year 10 (ninth grade) there, she moved to Queens, New York to finish the year. Then, she spent year 11 in Indianapolis, Indiana and year 12 in Newton, Massachusetts.

She was obsessed with Tupac in senior school

She loved living in Queens the most because it was more diverse and fun, she says. Plus, it's where she discovered hip-hop. 'I had braids. It was a whole thing—puffer jackets, I was in love with Tupac. I wore black for 20 days when he was killed.'
