We all know about putting up with some minor irritation in order to remain around-the-clock stylish... You know, like getting that blister cos we can't NOT wear our beloved velvet mules to the party, or shivering to the bone at the bus stop and yet refusing to do up our winter blazers because they just LOOK BETTER THAT WAY, OK?

But what about putting up with some major irritation – like wearing an Oscars gown that involves a metal corset and body suit, requiring the wearer to recruit a friend to help them go to the loo (as Jennifer Garner discovered last year), or wearing a Golden Globes gown so delicate you have to be carried to your transportation, and laid down flat in the car for an hour-long journey, just so you don't crease it...?

This is what Naomie Harris had to endure when she sported her crystal-embroidered Armani gown to Sunday's Golden Globes – a scenario she described in some detail to Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday...

'With these dresses, you know, there's so many hours of work that goes into them,' she told the TV host. 'Like my dress has little crystals on it, and they were all sewn in by hand... by this lovely guy called Leonardo from Armani. And he flew from Milan – didn't speak a word of English – but he flew from Milan to fit me in LA for the dress.

'And he just had so much love and care for this dress, like it was a baby or something, that I just felt awful about the idea of wrinkling it.

'So I got him to carry me, like a child, to the car and then lay me flat... I spent the whole journey like this, for, like, an hour... because I just didn't want to wrinkle the dress for him.'

Now that is dedication to the cause of Red Carpet.

Ovs her efforts were entirely worth it however, because Naomie looked, as ever, SENSATIONAL!

The Brit actress went on to recount a hilarious anecdote about her date to the Globes, her mum, who apparently loves accompanying her to awards ceremonies but who, amusingly, has no idea who anyone is. She referenced a Collateral Beauty dinner she had taken her to once, and told of how her mother had turned to the person sitting next to her to ask: 'What do you do?'

The man replied, 'I'm an actor. My name is Edward Norton...'

'That's my mum!' Naomie concluded.

What a woman!
