Molly-Mae Hague, but she's heading for the bright lights of the fashion world, as PrettyLittleThing hold their first runway in the capital. The fast fashion's first UK show will happen tonight, just before London Fashion Week kicks off, in what Molly says is the brand's 'biggest project yet'. The runway will showcase Molly-Mae's latest collection, which will then be available to buy afterwards.

It was announced back in August last year that 22-year-old Molly - who had released several collections with the company - had been promoted to UK Creative Director. (In America, the brand has Teyana Taylor as their creative director.) And Molly spoke about her new job with Heat, explaining what she actually does in her role.

'For the last three years I sort of naturally developed more of a lead in the business, in terms of when I was coming in for meetings to talk about the collections that I was producing, I'd be giving out ideas and talking to the teams about things that I saw within the brand and they really appreciated my ideas,' she said. 'It was just an organic natural flow for me to just take on this role, because I was kind of already doing it anyway.' Molly added that unlike other celebrities who have worked on collections with the brand, she approved everything with her collections.

Molly also addressed some of the backlash her appointment had last year. (After the announcement, activist Gina Martin tweeted: 'Would love to see you use your new influence, leverage and power to push for your garment workers to be paid above a living wage! As CD workers are now your priority too. [In 2020, it was revealed @OfficialPLT paid their Leicester workers £3.50 p/hour which is slave labour.]'

'I think people get it twisted and think "Molly-Mae is going to come in and flip this brand upside down and she's now the owner" but it's just not the case,' she said. 'I come in most days and I just sit and I give my creative input where I can and I give them my ideas because since being a consumer from the age of 14, I know what I want to see from this brand. I've gone through all the stages of being a PLT customer, to an influencer, to an ambassador to now the creative director.'
