Ahead of her new documentary dropping, Molly-Mae Hague has opened up about her relationship with ex-fiance Tommy Fury – finally addressing their rumoured New Years kiss.
Neither confirming nor denying that the kiss had taken place while promoting her new documentary this week, Molly-Mae instead responded, ‘This is a whole new territory for me. Tommy and I. Our relationship has always been in the public eye, but to deal with this breakup, with millions of eyes watching, it is hard, it is complicated.’
Love Island’s golden couple, fans were thrilled when Molly and Tommy announced their engagement in 2023 – months after welcoming their daughter, Bambi. However, the Maebe founder shocked fans last year by announcing her split from the boxer, writing at the time, ‘I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way.’
Rumours originally swirled that their five-year relationship broke down due to the boxer’s infidelity. Tommy recently shut down the comments – revealing in a bombshell interview that his ‘addiction to alcohol’ was responsible for their separation.
It initially appeared that romance was off the cards while the couple continued to navigate co-parenting, however fans were left shocked when pictures emerged appearing to show the duo sharing a New Years kiss. The video circled on social media, leaving many questioning whether a Tommy and Molly reunion may be on 2025’s bingo card...
Spotted kissing just weeks before the release of Molly’s documentary – of which it’s been teased she’ll open up about her breakup – the public were quick to dub their heartbreaking split a 'publicity stunt.'
Was Molly-Mae and Tommy's break up a publicity stunt?
Now rejecting any claims that their breakup was planned, Molly-Mae said, ‘For me, above everything, [that] has been the most frustrating part. I wish it was a publicity stunt, because it would be a lot easier. Because going through all of this, with the turmoil of a breakup, has been incredibly hard.’
‘I do see the comments, people saying this has obviously just been done "to launch her brand or a publicity stunt." It’s very painful to read because it’s real life.’
‘Tommy and I have a baby together, and it’s very, very real, and it’s a really hard thing that we’ve both gone through in the last six months,’ she said, adding, ‘We’re figuring it out as adults, as parents. We’re doing the best we can.’
The first three episodes of Molly-Mae: Behind It All are set to launch on Prime Video on 17 January, with the next three expected to land in Spring. Although the star admits the show will include an ‘honest’ look into her split, the former Pretty Little Thing creative director also insisted it would be ‘so much more than a breakup documentary’ – covering topics including body confidence and motherhood.
Admitting that she feels ‘anxious’ about the show’s release, the star said, ‘2024 was, a lot of it, about getting through this year, make it through. And 2025, I just want to leave a lot of things that have happened last year in last year, and focus on the positives.’
