If you have had a Mary/Mel/Sue shaped hole in your life ever since the much-love Great British Bake Off moved over to Channel 4, we have some good news to share. The GBBO presenters are reuniting for a one off festive BBC special this December.

The trio will be back on TV over Christmas presenting a show called Mary, Mel and Sue's Surprise Party. The new format will see them bringing some cheer to a community in South Wales with Mary making a special Christmas feast for residents and Mel and Sue giving the local community centre makeover.

According to the BBC, the unnamed South Wales community had ‘experienced some tough times’ of late but the residents have all worked together to make their centre ‘the beating heart of the community’ following closures of both the post office and local school.

Mary, Mel and Sue's Surprise Party isn’t the only Christmas TV we have to look forward to this year. Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders are reuniting for the first time in ten years with a new show and Victoria Wood’s former collaborator Anne Reid will be hosting a Christmas special dedicated to the late comic.

Other BBC Christmas shows to circle in this year’s Radio Times include The League Of Gentlemen, Mrs Brown’s Boys, Strictly, Call The Midwife and Doctor Who.
