Love Island star Liam Llewellyn has quit the hit ITV2 dating show and has already walked from the villa. Just last night we saw the Welsh student go on two dates with bombshells Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Afia Tonkmor after being voted in by the public.
However, it is being reported that he has already walked out of the villa doors after less than a week in the villa. He is the first islander to quit the dating show's eighth series.
In a teaser for tonight's episode Liam can be seen asking his fellow islanders to gather together around the fire pit for an announcement. The other islanders look very tense in the scene too. Many now believe this will be his leaving announcement - ahead of the dramatic recoupling that is set to take place tonight.
The reason for his speedy departure is not yet known. An insider told The Sun, ‘The reasons behind it are unknown so viewers will be glued to their screens tonight to find out.’ According to the publication a spokesperson for ITV declined to comment.
At the start of the series, Liam was coupled up with international dressage rider Gemma Owen, who, as we all know, is footballer Michael Owen’s daughter. Liam was very happy with the coupling but Gemma's eyes started to wonder when Italian business owner Davide Sanclimenti joined the villa. Davide eventually coupled up with Gemma leaving Liam vulnerable to the dumping.
The 22-year-old student is from Newport in South Wales and is studying for his masters in strength and conditioning. Before entering the villa, he said that he thought he was at a good age to meet someone. 'You’ve got your years ahead of you so you have time to experience stuff and grow together,’ he said. ‘I think Love Island is a great opportunity to meet someone, you’re in with a load of different types, so you can get to grips with what you really like about people.’
The reaction to Liam's quick departure across social media has been one of shock and sadness. One Twitter user wrote, 'Oh no, this is sad. I was just starting to really like him.' While Another raised concern writing, 'Only four days in? This is Odd! I hope he's okay.'
Liam isn't the first islander to walk in the early days of the series. If we cast our minds back to Love Island Winter edition 2020 - Ollie Williams also walked within the first week on the show.
