With filming on the first ever series of Celebrity Traitors set to start in April, speculation about the star-studded line-up is growing fast. And now Kate Garraway is rumoured to be amongst the first big names who have signed up to compete in the spin-off.
‘Kate has signed her contract for Celebrity Traitors. The BBC were avoiding stars who have done reality TV before but Kate’s someone they want to support and champion,’ an insider told The Sun. ‘She’s a great journalist and they think she’s perfect for a seat at the table.
'She’s had such a tough time since losing Derek [Draper, her late husband who died in January 2024 after a lengthy battle with the long-term effects of Covid] and is a huge fan of the show so this is a dream come true for her.’

Kate – who came fourth on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2019 – will next appear on the Stand Up to Cancer charity edition of The Great British Bake Off. The Good Morning Britain and Life Stories presenter has daughter Darcey, 19, and son Billy, 15, with late husband Derek.
On Celebrity Traitors, Kate, 57, is rumoured to be joined by comedian Stephen Fry and former England rugby player Joe Marler.

While he refused to confirm or deny the rumours when he was asked on TV, Stephen, 67, teased, ‘I’m in no position to say. I may be practising lying, I may be simply talking the truth.’ The funnyman said ‘hell will have frozen over’ before he would sign up for reality shows like Strictly Come Dancing Or I’m A Celebrity, but said of The Traitors, ‘I regard that not as reality, but a game, and I do like games. So should I be asked, who knows? Maybe if there is a version with well-known faces… it’s an interesting idea.’
As for Joe, 34, a source said, ‘Joe has officially signed his contract for Celebrity Traitors and can’t wait to get stuck in. Joe is a huge fan of The Traitors and the BBC loved him when they met him for an interview for the show. He says he’s got his game plan all mapped out and thinks he can go all the way.’
Other celebrities rumoured for the show include Clare Balding, Paloma Faith and Tom Daley. Claudia Winkleman will return to host the show, which will be set at Ardross Castle in Scotland.
A BBC spokesperson refused to comment on the rumours, saying, ‘The Traitors includes lies and deception, so it would be foolhardy for any Faithful to speculate before the game has begun.’
