It was TIME magazine's annual 100 Most Influential People bash last night – a very exclusive event – and so naturally, honoured guests dressed up for the occasion...
Former Victoria's Secret model Karlie Kloss wore a purple gown with camisole straps designed by Victoria Beckham, of which, she told PEOPLE magazine, 'I'm wearing my purple in [Prince's] honour'; Purple Rain is her favourite song, she later revealed.
Karlie, 23, was included in TIME's 100 Most Influential not only for her work as a model, but also for her charity work, with such initiatives as Edible Schoolyard NYC and Feed. She attended the event in New York with her businessman boyfriend, Joshua Kushner, 30.
Also in attendance was Melissa McCarthy, who delivered a heartfelt speech praising her fellow honourees.
'I think at some way along the road so many people in this room were told "You cant do that. That's not how you should think. You're doing it wrong. You're nuts. You're crazy. That's not how we do things. That's not acceptable, there's a way to do it",' she said.
'And in one way or another, everybody in this room simply forged ahead. And thinking outside the box like that will change the world.
'And it doesn't matter how small or how big – there's people fighting for human rights and medical cures and making the world happier by singing amazing songs like Ariana [Grande] out of that little tiny body. I don't understand how that works.'
Other public fugures recognised by TIME included singer Nicki Minaj, who arrived with Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci, whilst wearing (appropriately) Givenchy – a black lace dress from the AW16 collection.
Actress Mia Farrow was also snapped at the gala, as was actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Caitlyn Jenner.
