Lockdown has meant that many of us have been ordering hair dye and scissors online, and giving ourselves DIY hair styles (to varying levels of success, we might add). Some of us have been over zealously plucking our eyebrows - or trying a new smoky eye look. But some have been going to the extreme - and tattooing, yes, tattooing themselves in lockdown.

The model already has quite a few small tattoos - so what did she add to the collection? Some intricate design? A simple stencil like a heart? No, Kaia decided to keep things simple, giving herself a dot. She said: ‘I didn't get too ambitious. I gave myself a dot, just so I could be like, "All right, I got a tattoo this month, I'm cool."'

While you might know a few friends who have given themselves tattoos successfully, we think it probably isn’t worth the risk if you don’t want to make an unscheduled trip to A&E (now more so than ever). Like, unsanitary needles can lead to infections, guys! Needles can give bacterial infections, which could spread to tissues under the skin and end up in your bloodstream. (And if needles are shared, then you also obviously risk bloodborne diseases too.)
Not to mention that you’re probably not as talented as a trained tattoo artist... Maybe wait for the tattoo parlour to reopen.
