Jamie Lainghas opened up for the first time about the terrifying moment when his fiancée Sophie Haboo ‘turned blue and almost died.’

The former Made in Chelsea star revealed that the scare happened a mere few hours after he proposed to Sophie, which they confirmed on Instagram earlier this week.

Jamie told The Private Part’s Podcast,’I got engaged and my fiancée nearly died.’ He detailed that she was violently 'throwing up' after a weekend celebrating their engagement. Laing revealed that the scary ordeal left him ‘screaming for help’ and panicking.

Jamie recalled how the incident happened, ‘We spent the day together and then we went for lunch the next day on Sunday with Sophie’s sister and boyfriend Tom.’

‘It had been wild weekend, we had a bottle of champagne and Sophie ordered oysters. We got a bit drunk and went to bed.

'I woke up at 5am in the morning and Sophie was throwing up in the loo. I thought maybe she got food poisoning.'

Jamie insisted that they didn't drink an extortionate amount, as he went on to explain how much worse things got. ‘I clear her up and get her to the bathroom, we go downstairs, and her lips are looking a little bit blue.’

Laing then realised he needed to make a mad dash to the hospital for help and when they arrived A&E was ‘rammed’

‘I sat her down and her fingers and lips were going bluer and bluer,’ the former Made In Chelsea star said. ‘I was trying to get people’s attention to look after her and they said you just have to wait, but she was turning blue.’

‘I’ve never had fear like that in my life ever. We checked her oxygen levels, and it was really low,’ he added.

Jamie explained that luckily after Sophie was put on oxygen, the nightmare started to get better. However, it still took doctors around seven hours to raise her oxygen to an acceptable level.

Sharing a picture of Sophie in hospital, Jamie captioned the post, 'Not so well little thing, but still wearing the hat.'

He later updated his followers writing, 'To everyone who sent sweet messages, Sophie is all OK.'

The Made In Chelsea stars announced their engagement on Instagram this week. Sophie posted an array of images of the pair and a hat saying 'Mrs Laing-to be'. She captioned her post,' WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!!! I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you @jamielaing.'
