If there's one thing that's got us through lockdown, it's watching copious amounts of TV and films. But there's only so many times you can rewatch Normal People, so we're all eager for new releases to entertain us. And Ryan Reynolds' latest project looks very entertaining indeed. The actor is starring (and producing) upcoming film Free Guy. And good news for Killing Eve fans, as Jodie Comer is starring in it too.
The film, according to the synopsis, is about 'a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, and decides to become the hero of his own story—one he rewrites himself.' Sounds interesting, right? It continues, 'Thanks to a program developed by programmers Milly (Jodie Comer) and Keys (Joe Keery) inserted into Free City by the publisher Antoine (Taika Waititi), Guy becomes aware of his world being a video game, and takes steps to make himself the hero, creating a race against time to save the game before the developers can shut it down.'
The trailer has just been released and it sees Ryan Reynolds as the titular video game character Guy and Jodie Comer as Milly outside the game, and then inside the game as Molotov Girl, looking nearly unrecognisable in a short black wig. And it might be virtual, but Reynolds makes a move on Comer, kissing her inside the game.
So, when can we watch it? Free Guy was scheduled to be released in the United States on on July 3, 2020 - but obviously that didn't happen due to coronavirus.
It's currently scheduled for release in UK cinemas in December, that is if everything goes to plan of course.
