Brad Pitt has been killing it this awards season. And tonight was no different. For his role as stuntman Cliff Booth in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, the actor took home the statuette for best supporting actor atthe Oscars{
And they've been hilarious. At the SAG Awards, Brad joked about his Tinder profile, saying it was difficult to play a guy 'who gets high, takes his shirt off, and doesn't get on with his wife'. At the BAFTAs, even thoughMargot Robbie had to collect his award as he couldn't attend due to a last minute 'family obligation', he still managed to joke about Brexit and Megxit. And tonight, during his 45-second speech, Brad decided to pay homage to his co-star Leo DiCaprio. 'I’ll ride on your coattails any day, man,' he told the audience. 'The view is fantastic.'
But, while we've all laughed, there's been a lot of speculation as to whether Brad is actually writing his speeches. (Vulture claim they contacted a speech writing agency who said Brad's reps had been in touch.)
However, the actor is here to dispel those rumours. Tonight, when asked if he used a speechwriter this award season, Brad Pitt told reporters: 'Historically I’ve always been really tentative about speeches, they make me nervous, so this round I figured if we’re gonna do this I’m gonna put some real work into it and try to get comfortable - and this is a result of that. I definitely write ‘em. I have some funny friends, I have some very very funny friends that help me with some laughs, but it’s gotta come from the heart.'
So, there you have it. Brad Pitt{
