Ariana Grande's Thank U, Next Music Video Receives Incredible Reaction From Famous Friends - But Two Scenes Were Axed

The singing sensation's latest release features parodies of hit movies, including Mean Girls, Legally Blonde and 13 Going On 30

Ariana Grande sent the globe into meltdown when she FINALLY released the highly-anticipated music video for her latest single Thank U, Next.

The visual accompaniment to the track sees the songstress parody hit noughties films. Ariana plays the role of Mean Girls’ Regina George, Legally Blonde’s Elle Woods – originally portrayed by Reese Witherspoon - as well as 13 Going on 30 actress Jennifer Garner’s character Jenna Rink, although numerous references to Bring It On were also included.

Within moments of the big unveil celebrities flocked to social media to praise the 25 year old for her accurate impersonations. Reese tweeted: ‘Can we please talk about @ArianaGrande's Bend and Snap?! 10/10 nailed it! #thankunext.’

Jennifer shared a scene from Ariana’s music video, which was a nod to the 2004 movie, on her Instagram account. She wrote: ‘Every now and then something comes along and just brightens your day @arianagrande you’re adorable. Thank you, pretty girl.’ Jennifer continued to show her appreciation for Ari’s performance, as in her Instagram Story, she wrote: ‘@arianagrande looks more like Jenna Rink than I ever did.’

The post sent Pete Davidson’s ex into shock, as she tweeted: ‘jennifer's post guys i......... help me.’

Jennifer’s co-star Mark Ruffalo – who played her on-screen best friend Matt in the production – honoured Ariana’s music video in the best way. He tweeted: ‘Having some Razzles (it’s a candy AND a gum) in your honor, @ArianaGrande! #thankunext.’

Keeping Up With the Kardashians matriarch, Kris Jenner, boasted a cameo in the clip, which has now racked up almost 40 million views on YouTube. The momager took on the role of the ‘cool mom’ in Mean Girls as she recorded the signature Christmas performance.

Just in case you missed it, Kris retweeted her appearance, which she also posted on her Instagram account. She wrote: ‘I’m not a regular mom, I'm a cool mom.’ The Kardashian/Jenner brood shared their amusement. Kendall commented ‘This is genius’, while Kim Kardashian worte ‘So f***ing funny.’ Kourtney praised Kris as the ‘coolest mom’ and a ‘legend’ for her hilarious appearance.

Ariana did not hold back in the video as she hit out at her exes Pete Davidson – who she she split from in October after a whirlwind romance and engagement – Big Sean, as well as Ricky Alvarez, while her late boyfriend Mac Miller was hailed an ‘angel’ on the track.

Although the sly digs remained in the single and music video, two separate scenes did not make the final edit. Director Hannah Lux Davis told Entertainment Tonight the moment in Mean Girls when the girl gang tried to make the word ‘Fetch’ happen, as well as the Victoria’s Secret lip gloss segment, were both axed.

Thank U, Next.
