This week, TikTok's focus has turned to skincare, with all eyes on a seemingly game-changing £25 toner that promises to cut down on blackheads, temper breakouts and boost your glow.

COSRX's BHA Blackhead Power Liquid, £26,an exfoliating toner made with 4% natural beta hydroxy acid - a water-soluble acid that is often fruit-derived, which helps to gently remove dead surface skin cells. This gentle exfoliation helps to unclog pores over time and lower your chances of breakouts.

There's a lot to be said for the glow-boosting properties of this toner too. Many TikTokers showcase instant results in this department, which are likely a result of hydrating ingredients like sodium hyaluronate and niacinamide. Regular use will lead to increased dewiness over time too, it stands to reason that if you're regularly shifting dulling dead skin cells, your complexion will appear brighter.
The toner is easy to use. As the solution is relatively concentrated, start by sparingly sweeping it over your face with a cotton bag once a week, avoiding the delicate skin around your eyes and lips. If, after a couple of weeks, your skin is reacting well and not showing any signs of irritation, increase usage to two or three times a week, but no more. Excessive use may damage your skin barrier, and make your skin more sensitive and prone to redness.
