If you're looking to address fine lines and wrinkles via non-invasive skincare (read: no botox) then you might be interested in this face mask treatment. Developed by award-winning cosmetic doctor Dr Steven Harris, the 'wrinkle-reducing' face mask apparently works in just fifteen minutes, is completely pain-free and has been clinically proven to reduce lines by up to 64%. Sound too good to be true? We thought so, too. But then we heard that it amassed a waitlist of 5000 in just 48-hours after launching.

Intrigued? We were. Here's everything you need to know…

The Dr Harris Anti-Wrinkle Sleep Mask

At first glance, the 'anti-wrinkle sleep mask' looks just like your average nightly sleep mask. But look a little closer and you'll see that it actually features little silicone dots around the eye area, culminating at the point in between your eyes.

"I was travelling from London to Toronto and feeling particularly stressed, to the point I could feel that I was continuously frowning," says Dr Steven Harris, an award-winning cosmetic doctor who developed the mask as an alternative treatment to injectables.

"I was handed a face mask and simultaneously spotted someone with in-flight socks with the silicon grips on the soles. I had this sort of light bulb moment where I thought about how the grip and tension of this silicone could be used in a face mask to alleviate frowning and reduce fine lines."

How does it work?

Confused how these unassuming little bumps of silicone can help iron out fine lines? Let's explore...

When applied to the face, the silicone dots help to stimulate the free nerve endings in the skin while also creating a grip and resistance that, in turn, prevents movement on the face. I.e. frowning becomes so tiresome that you simply relax the face completely. This neutral hold of the face reduces the movement that can lead to dynamic lines.

Again, we weren't so sure, but clinical trials prove that the simple science does indeed work. In fact, trials showed that the silicone eye mask significantly improved the appearance of glabella lines (frown lines) in just fifteen minutes.*

Plus, they say the longer and more frequently you wear it, the better the results. You can wear it overnight, for a moment of relaxation, planned meditation or power nap (we're all about the latter).

The good news is that you can also carry on with your favourite skincare routine while using the mask. That means there's no need to give up your nightly dose of niacinamide or wrinkle-addressing retinol.

Dr Harris Anti-Wrinkle Sleep Mask, £89.99

We haven't yet had the chance to try this one out for ourselves so we can't personally vouch for the 'wrinkle-reducing' effects. What we can say is the 5000-strong waiting list piqued our interest and we have a sample en route to test and review ASAP. At £90 it's definitely a pricey sleep mask, but if it lives up to its claims it could be a worthy investment. Time will tell (and we'll report back).
