Sarah Jessica Parker is not an influencer - or so she says. Taking to Instagram yesterday, the Sex And The City and And Just Like That star (new season incoming) posted a video, her blue polished nails twirling a lip product to camera. The caption? 'I am not an influencer. I am just the “appliquee” Thank you @elaineoffers, the connector.' The 'connector' in question is Parker's on and off-screen make-up artist Elaine Offers Woulard, who the actress often credits with introducing her to new and exciting beauty buys.
Wouldard's latest recommendation is Tarte's Maracuju Juicy Lip Plumper, £20 which is designed to mimic the effects of a lip plumping injection - no filler necessary. Made with fatty acid and vitamin C rich maracuji oil, just a swipe supposedly works to smooth and soften parched lips. And then there's grapeseed and goji oil, which are said to promote collagen production and help your skin to retain moisture. It's this increase in moisture that creates the plumping effect - and all without that dreaded tingle. As well as plumping and moisturising, there's the promise of colour too - available in six beautiful shades, each are sheer, balmy and beautiful - think a soft, delicate flush of pigment that feels effortlessly chic and very Carrie Bradshaw.
It's no surprise that SJP is a fan, really. She's partial to a subtle look when it comes to make-up - natural, dewy complexion and complementing petal toned-lips and cheeks, though she does love a smoky eye. Woulard previously revealed that she used beauty brand Merit on Parker both on and off-screen, which is well known for its pared-back, minimalist approach. And then there was her favourite lip gloss. BTS images of Parker on the set of And Just Like That revealed how she regularly applied the Dior Addict Stellar Gloss, £31, again confirming her love for a sheen-laden lip.
Needless to say that despite her protestations to the contrary, SJP is very much an influencer - especially if the comments are anything to go by. 'If SJ loves Tarte then we all love Tarte 👏👏,' wrote one, while another typed '“I’m not an influencer”?! You’re Sarah Jessica Parker 🤩👏🏾an icon!' And we're inclined to agree.
