It's that time of year again! Fashion month is here and things kicked off good and proper in New York, especially in the beauty arena. Beige may have been ruling the day fashion-wise in the Big Apple, but the beauty trends hitting the catwalks involved an entirely brighter colour spectrum.
There were pillar-box red lips at Oscar de la Renta and Longchamp, while lids were laden with gold at Adeam, where the '90s stretch hairband was back with a vengeance (good news for all those who have been struggling to keep their hair out of their face during Storm Dennis!). Meanwhile, Rag & Bone proved to be a masterclass in graphic eyeliner application.
One of the biggest and most vivid trends hitting the catwalks was daubed-on eye colour. Last season saw watercolour-effect lids make it big, but Autumn/Winter sees the look get a whole lot more abstract. Some of our favourites included the electric blue shades at Tadashi Shoji, which were paired with tan shades of bronzer and blush, and the shock of Stablo pink at Self-Portrait.
Smooth, glossy hair paired with a perfect parting and gathered at the nape of the neck, either in a bun or a low ponytail was another stand-out trend. It seems Autumn/Winter 2020 may call for a little serum!
Candy pink haired models made cameos in many a show, so it's fair to say we can expect this trend to hit after summer, and we're sure the at-home colour brands will gladly provide the tools to get it right. Keen to see more? Get browsing.
