We couldn't quite believe it when we stumbled across these Photoshopped images of Meghan - previously known as Meghan Markle - the Duchess of Sussex. Face-altering iterations aside, we're all for using a joyful filter on ourselves every now and then, but where do we draw the line when it comes to altering the appearance of someone else? Meghan has always been vocal about her stance on images of herself being edited. Meghan told US title Allure in 2017, 'To this day, my pet peeve is when my skin tone is changed and my freckles are airbrushed out of a photo shoot.' What would Meghan think then, we wonder, about the very obviously edited images of her that are currently doing the rounds on Instagram?

Instagram account @goddess.women has a feed that's full to the brim of similarly edited pictures of well-known A-listers - click here to scroll through all their edited pictures of Jennifer Aniston - and the changes made to each image follow a similar theme. Each celeb's complexion is airbrushed to the max, lips are enlarged, jaws are defined, glow is upped and eyes are emphasised. It's hard to tear your eyes away from each fairly distorted image, and the @goddess.women certainly has a knack for photo editing software, but isn't there something sad about each and every one? Scroll through this feed and you realise that the same copy-and-pasted face is staring back at you from each headshot, regardless of the respective A-list muse's natural features. What's the message here? That we should all be striving for full lips, Disney-esque eyes and a heart-shaped face? If this isn't a stark reminder of the damaging effects that face-altering filters and social-media-based ideals are having on us all, we don't know what is.
