As a self-proclaimed make-up junkie who has tried her fair share of products and dabbled in a few too many beauty trends, I'll be the first to tell you that less is more. My minimalist approach to make-up is perhaps most felt in my recent conversion to tinted moisturisers. While I may have spent my teens coating my skin in thick heavy-duty long-wear foundations in a bid to cover my acne (without so much as glancing at the light coverage options), things are different in my 30s. I'm far less bothered by my skin issues, I prefer feeling comfortable over covered, and the impressive developments in the tinted moisturiser category mean I can no longer turn a blind eye to the products I once overlooked. Fuelled by cultural phenomenons like the ‘clean girl’ aesthetic, the rise of sheer base products like skin tints, BB, and CC creams have spawned a flurry of new-gen buys that prioritise skin health by way of clever skin-loving ingredients, promise a second-skin natural finish, and offer impressive coverage – and, I am well and truly locked in. My current obsession? The Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint, £37, which counts Keira Knightly, Felicity Jones and Lupita Nyong'o as fans.

What is the Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint?

Trust professional make-up artist Lisa Eldridge MBE, a Grazia beauty panel member, to create the kind of products celebrities, TikTokers and beauty editors quickly fall for. As a one of the most decorated make-up artists around, who has set trends on catwalks as well as red carpets, she has established herself as a voice of authority in the beauty world – and now, she's got the skin tint to prove it.

The Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint is Eldridge's answer to a healthy-looking, fresh-faced, lightweight base. With a skincare-to-make-up hybrid formula that is made up of 78% skincare ingredients, the tint works hard to perfect the look of skin while protecting its integrity over time by helping to keep it 'soothed, smoothed and strengthened,' according to the brand's website. Loaded with hydrating glycerin, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich prickly pear, calming sunflower seed oil, as well as coco caprylate, vitamin E and squalene to soften and nourish, it ensures skin is protected, replenished and plump, whilst blurring pigments quickly even out skin tone, reduce redness and lift shadows.

It also promises to be a 'tone perfecting, crease-proof formula,' and you can tell that tone was clearly an important consideration for Eldridge. With 20 shades to choose from, the range offers a diversity of hues as far as skin tints are concerned, 'My goal has always been to enhance natural beauty and bring out the best in every face – that’s never changed,' Eldridges shared on Instagram. 'Tapping into my experience of making up thousands of beautiful faces, I have thoroughly considered the nuances of undertones when creating this shade range, to ensure the Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint caters to a very wide range of skin tones,' she said.

Our honest review of the Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint

Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says, 'Having turned away from the world of heavy foundations in favour of the lightweight life, I have tried and tested a fair few tinted moisturisers and skin tints, and can confirm not all are built the same. But Lisa Eldridge's Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint is an example of how to do things right. On the skin, it feels soft, velvety and boasts a satin finish which really does lend a seamless second-skin feel. There is some luminosity, but it's not loud or in your face – instead, there's a subtle radiance about it that feels more lit-from-within rather than dewy overload. Thanks to all of the above, it sits very comfortable on my skin to the point of looking and feeling traceless - which is all I want from a good base product these days. That said, on the days where I need a little more coverage thanks to persistent hormonal acne, I do need to layer up with some concealer here and there, but I'd easily choose the chore of micro-concealing (Lisa Eldridge's Pinpoint Concealer Micro Correcting Pencil, £27, makes light work of that) over wearing a heavy duty foundation all day. As for shades, I haven't found my perfect match yet but the shades do stretch, so I can get away with using T10 if I mix in a few drops of T9.'
