Paving the way in beauty innovation, Chanel’s latest App LipScanner is here to change the way we shop online for lipstick for good. From a favourite item of clothing to a piece of ribbon, a bunch of flowers to a piece of fruit, the in-house App uses a unique colour scanner to find your perfect lipstick match with a catalogue of over 400 lip products to choose from.
How Does Chanel's LipScanner App Work?
First of all, you need to download the iPhone App which is available for free on the Apple App Store (download it here). Next, scan or upload an image showcasing the colour you want to match. Using Artificial Intelligence (AI), LipScanner’s recognition engine compares the scanned colour with the entire Chanel lip range in real time to bring you the best match. Here are just two ways to use the App:
1. Upload An Image Of Your Favourite Lip Look
Be it a celebrity or a street style image from a magazine, take a photo on the app or select an image from your camera roll and LipScanner will identify the face, detect and isolate the lips. Clever, right? AI will then analyse the colour and texture to bring you the Chanel lip product that’s a perfect match.
2. Scan A Colour That Inspires You
If you’ve searched high and low for the perfect lip colour to suit an outfit or accessory, then this App is for you. Take a photo of the colour you want to match and LipScanner will find the nearest shade in two or three finishes (matte, satin, glossy).
The magic doesn’t end there, once you have your lipstick match you can use the App’s ‘Virtual Try On’ feature to see if you actually like the look of the lipstick on – genius! And with five colour families (natural, pink, orange, red and plum), available in countless textures (gloss, shine, metallic, satin and matte) – the lipstick possibilities for immediate virtual try-on are endless.
How To Shop Foundation Online
Findation.com is such a great resource to help you choose the right shade. Simply go to the website, enter your current foundation brand, formula and shade as well as any previous foundations you’ve owned and their shades (the more brands/shades the better). Findation will then generate a list of umpteen different foundations in your suggested shades based on your current/previous foundations.
